Greetings and welcome to the official website of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority,
Incorporated ®, Pi Lambda Omega Chapter. It is my pleasure as President to
greet you on behalf of our chapter, and invite you to get to know us by browsing
our website and viewing the many empowering and transformative programs
that we do for the Louisville community.
Our Story
Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated ® was founded in 1908, and a primary tenet of our mission is “Service to All Mankind.” Our current international theme is “Soaring to Greater Heights of Service & Sisterhood,” and under the leadership of International President Danette Anthony Reed, our service organization has instituted the following six initiatives:

Our chapter was chartered on June 28, 1986, in Louisville, Kentucky, and we are thrilled to be celebrating our 40 Anniversary next year. For nearly forty years, we have been blessed to provide transformative service to this community and beyond.
Our Phenomenal, Poised, and Powerful chapter is committed to leaving a legacy of positive change. Our service includes youth mentoring, educational initiatives, women’s health initiatives, and philanthropic donations. Thank you for taking the time to visit our website, and know that we work to soar to greater heights, enhancing our community as we soar.
